Project #2 - pocket rod curtains

I completed another project yesterday.. and I am so happy at how they turned out! Meet my new dining room curtains! The fabric is Amy Butler from the August Fields collection... I covered a bulletin board in this same fabric a while ago and loved it so much I ordered
more for curtains.
I made a simple pocket and left almost 2” above so the curtains would reach to the ceiling... It makes them look more formal, and I love how the fabric looks like it could be vintage. The Amy Butler home decor weight fabric is an absolute joy to work with. It has a lovely feel, and It presses up beautifully! I’m going to make an effort to post links to shops I find and love as I come across them. I am constantly amazed by the gorgeous handmade items available online, if only you can find them! I stumbled upon the sub-studio design store today and I absolutely love their work. I love hand screenprinted items (as opposed to digitally reproduced) and these ones are so funky and graphic. Check it out!

Vintage button heaven - brizelsupplies

I have some gorgeous Amy Butler fabric waiting for me to make new pillow covers for my living room, and I am wanting to do button closures a-la-Sarah Richardson. I went on Etsy yesterday to look for some vintage buttons and stumbled upon a treasure trove! Nicole of brizelsupplies is passionate about buttons... just read her shop profile to see for yourself! She has wood, glass, metal, plastic, shell, every color of the rainbow (including rainbow), rhinestones, the list goes on! I LOVE vintage buttons. They just don’t make buttons like they used to... so in browsing through Nicoles shop it is no surprise that I added about ten sets of buttons to my favorites list. Now I just have to pick one... or buy more fabric and do more sewing! Go check it out!

Today I had the rare and lovely gift (thanks mom!) of a day at home with my hubby and no little ones! The perfect opportunity to complete one of my many home projects that sit waiting for me patiently. I have been wanting to skirt this sink since before it was installed, and I happened to have a piece of fabric just the right size already on-hand. And so...
